Matthew Hutton MS, ATC
Matt began his sports medicine journey in 2013 at the University of Iowa, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and was awarded the Kevin Nels Neegard scholarship for his academic and clinical excellence. After graduating from Iowa, Matt pursued a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology at Western Illinois University. While in Illinois, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the track and field/cross country and women’s basketball teams. He also wrote a thesis on stress, comparing the stress experience between student-athletes and student-non-athletes. Following graduation from WIU, Matt accepted an athletic training internship with Camp Woodward, an action sports camp that features world-class athletes in cheerleading, gymnastics, skateboarding, and BMX. Matt continued his career as an athletic trainer at Indian Hills Community College, working with the men’s soccer and men’s basketball programs. Currently, Matt serves full-time as an athletic trainer with the Houston Dynamo Academy.
